Tribe Caribe Midnight Rumba: Sounds of Cuba features a distillation of sample-friendly elements of the African-influenced Cuban rumba genre. Originating in Nigeria and traveling across the Atlantic, rumba became one of Cuba's most important genres and is still very popular in the Cuban music scene. To create the Midnight Rumba sample pack, Tribe Caribe worked with some of the genre's best musicians, including Osain del Monte and Yaroldi Abreu, among others
Leaning heavily on percussion and vocals, Midnight Rumba offers a variety of unique sounds, ranging from the indigenous African grooves of Batas and Shekere to more traditional instruments such as congas and harpsichords, while rich vocal chants round out the set. With tempos ranging from 120 to 160 beats per minute, this set is the perfect balance of the Latin flavor of rumba mixed with its African origins.
"Midnight Rumba" is created and curated by Grammy Award-winning producer Andres Levin's lifestyle brand and record label Tríbe Caríbe, a platform dedicated to connecting Latin America and the Caribbean through musical exploration.
